Sony MDRXB450AP Extra Bass Smartphone Headset Review
The Sony MDRXB450AP extra bass smartphone headset is a good quality product with a well-balanced musical sound delivery. It is designed as an on-ear headphone and comfort is indeed the middle name of these headphones as they are so comfortable to wear that the user will quickly become accustomed to wearing them even after extended hours of use without feeling any discomfort whatsoever.
Sony MDRXB450AP Features
It has a beautiful metallic finish and its height is adjustable with a notched system that guarantees a good positioning on the user’s head. The arch of the headphones is made with a soft-touch plastic that seems sturdy enough for daily mobile use. These headphones feature a self-adjusting headband and padded earphones covering the entire ear.
It is light and relatively compact but it was not designed to be collapsible which could be a disappointment for music lovers who would not want to clutter their bags with headphones. One other strike against this product is the absence of a carrying case in the product package.
These headphones have the ability to swivel around a vertical axis, so they can be placed flat on a table surface.
The Sony MDRXB450AP headphones are appropriately sized with ear pads that are thick and comfortable to wear without causing irritation or intense heat. Indeed, the light weight of the headphones makes it very comfortable to wear without any inconvenience to the user.
The headphones are fairly large and well designed to promote the sound insulation of the helmet. The sound insulation feature works well enough although external sounds are still audible, they are greatly diminished.
Also, the wraparound design of the headphones helps to retain the music inside and keep out external distractions. The sound is reflected back to the ears to convey even the most subtle sounds. The closed design optimizes the bass, you really feel the beat of your music.
There are two vents on these headphones which facilitate the circulation of air at low frequency, thereby optimizing the effectiveness of the diaphragm to allow a more accurate reproduction of bass rhythms.
With its enhanced sensitivity of 102 dB / mW, this headset is highly effective in converting the electrical signal into acoustic signals. Thus, the user gets to hear audio from across the entire sound spectrum in comparison to less sensitive headphones.
The speakers utilized in this headphone set is optimized for bass reproduction. They have a dynamic neodymium diaphragms of 30 mm and a frequency response from 5 Hz to 20,000 Hz.
There is a non-detachable cable that has been integrated into the helmet. It measures 1.2 metres long and forms a Y. This cord is designed to be flat so as to avoid the formation of nodes along its length. This makes this cord to be tangle-free.
This cord has a wired remote control and a microphone built into it such that the user can easily manage phone calls on their smartphone. This remote control and microphone set up is compatible with iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows mobile phones.
Hence, the user can use this cord to make hands-free calls on such compatible smartphones while listening to music.
